Tanzania has a lot to offer for the little ones! And that is adventure for real! Nothing like going to the zoo, or a marine park!
Arriving in the north of Tanzania, at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are transferred to Dik Dik Hotel, outside of Arusha town, where you can make yourselves confortable in the rooms, and then go and jump in the pool! This little cosy place is ideal for families, as it is safe, quiet, and has a relaxed atmosphere.
The next morning, your safari guide will come to pick you up for a half-day walking safari in Arusha Park, accompanied by an armed ranger. Here you will be able to see the first monkeys, zebras and giraffes. There are no predators, so you can just enjoy, without being afraid! If you feel like, you can continue in the afternoon, and go to the Ngurdoto Crater, which is an intact caldera (extinct volcano), which herds buffaloes, or go back to your hotel for a rest.
The next day, you depart for a 4 days safari to Manyara Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. You will have your own private jeep, and stay in children-friendly lodges with swimming-pool, for a bit of exercise, after the hours sitting in the car!
It is also possible to do some mountain biking around Manyara Park, and go and visit local villages.
After the safari, you come back to your lodge, and rest a day, then take a plane the next day to Zanzibar. There you will stay on the East Coast, in Matemwe, where the beach is shallow, and easy for kids. From there, you can easily do a try dive, or dive course, bicycle on the beach, go fishing with a ngalawa (traditional out-rigger), or just relax around the pool.
At the end of the holiday, you will stay close to town, in Mtoni, which is by the beach and has a swimming-pool, and from where you will do day trips to Kizimkazi to snorkel with dolphins, visit Jozani Forest and its Colobus Monkeys, and do an excursion to Prison Island to see the giant tortoises!
